Yesim eSIM Review 2026

Quick Verdict

Yesim is a solid mid-tier eSIM provider that offers good value, especially for regional travel in Europe and Asia. With a well-designed app, competitive pricing on multi-country regional plans, and Chinese language support, it's a strong choice for travelers who prioritize price and convenience. It falls short on customer support consistency and unlimited plan options, but for most leisure travelers using moderate amounts of data, Yesim delivers reliable service at competitive prices.

Buy Yesim if: you want competitive regional plan pricing, you prefer app-based management, or you need Chinese language support.

Skip Yesim if: you need truly unlimited data, you require 24/7 premium customer support, or you want the absolute widest country coverage.

Who Is Yesim For?

1. Regional Multi-Country Travelers

Yesim's regional plans offer excellent value for travelers visiting multiple countries within a single region. Whether you're backpacking through Europe, island-hopping in Southeast Asia, or doing a business tour of East Asia, Yesim's regional bundles often undercut competitors on price while covering all the major destinations.

2. App-Preferring Travelers

If you like managing everything from your phone, Yesim's mobile app is well-designed and makes it easy to browse plans, purchase, track usage, and top up. The app supports both iOS and Android with a clean, intuitive interface that's better than many mid-tier competitors.

3. Chinese-Speaking Travelers

Yesim offers Chinese language support, which is relatively rare among international eSIM providers. If you prefer customer service in Chinese or want a Chinese-language app interface, Yesim is one of the better options available.

Who Should Skip Yesim?

1. Heavy Data Users & Streamers

If you regularly use 10+ GB per day or need unlimited data for streaming, gaming, or large file uploads, Yesim isn't the best choice. Their unlimited plan options are limited, and the FUP policies on those plans aren't always clearly documented. Heavy users will be happier with Holafly or Maya Mobile.

2. Travelers Who Need Reliable 24/7 Support

Yesim's customer support quality is inconsistent. Response times vary significantly depending on the time of day and the complexity of your issue. If you're traveling to remote areas and might need urgent support, consider providers with more reliable 24/7 support like aloSIM or Maya Mobile.

3. Off-the-Beaten-Path Travelers

With around 120+ countries covered, Yesim has good coverage of popular tourist destinations but misses some more obscure locations. If you're traveling to smaller countries or remote regions, Airalo's wider coverage (190+ countries) would be a safer bet.

Yesim at a Glance

Coverage & Network

Yesim partners with local carriers worldwide to provide eSIM data service. Coverage is strongest in Europe and popular Asian destinations, with growing options in the Americas and beyond.

Coverage by Region

Europe: Strong coverage across most Western and Central European countries. Regional Europe plans cover all EU countries plus the UK, Norway, and Switzerland. Network partners include Vodafone, Orange, Telefonica, and other major carriers. Good value for multi-country European trips.

Asia: Good coverage of popular tourist destinations including Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and India. Regional Asia and Southeast Asia plans are competitively priced. Network quality varies by country — generally good in East Asia, more variable in Southeast Asia.

North America: Decent US and Canada coverage with plans available for both countries. Regional North America plans cover the US, Canada, and sometimes Mexico. Speeds are reliable in major cities.

Latin America: Moderate coverage of major destinations like Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia. Fewer plan options than Europe or Asia, and prices tend to be higher.

Africa & Middle East: Limited but growing coverage. Plans available for major tourist hubs like Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, UAE, and Turkey. Don't expect deep coverage across the continent.

Network Quality Notes

• Major European cities: Good to excellent — 20-50 Mbps on 4G LTE, 5G available in many cities.
• Major Asian cities: Good — 15-45 Mbps on 4G, depending on the country and carrier partner.
• Other regions: Variable — speeds range from decent to slow depending on local network partners.
• Rural areas: As with all eSIM providers, rural coverage depends on the local carrier. Stick to populated areas for the best experience.

Pricing Plans

Yesim offers local, regional, and global plans with competitive pricing, especially on regional bundles.

Local Plans (Single Country)

• Best for: Single-destination trips
• Price range: $4 - $50+
• Example: Japan 10 GB / 15 days ~$16; Thailand 8 GB / 15 days ~$10
• Often among the cheapest options for single-country plans

Regional Plans (Multi-Country)

• Best for: Multi-destination regional travel
• Regions: Europe, Asia, Southeast Asia, North America, Latin America, Middle East
• Price range: $10 - $70+
• Example: Europe 25 GB / 30 days ~$32; SE Asia 12 GB / 15 days ~$18
• Regional plans are Yesim's strongest value proposition

Global Plans (Worldwide)

• Best for: Multi-continent travel
• Coverage: 80+ countries with one data pool
• Price range: $25 - $150+
• Example: Global 15 GB / 30 days ~$48
• Convenient but not the cheapest per-GB option

Price Comparison: Yesim vs Competitors

Yesim is consistently competitive on price, especially for regional plans. It's often slightly cheaper than Airalo and comparable to Saily or SimOptions for many destinations.

Speed & Performance

We tested Yesim in 7 countries across 3 regions. Here are our findings:

Average Download Speeds by Country

Key takeaway: Yesim speeds are generally comparable to other mid-tier eSIM providers — typically 15-35% slower than direct carrier SIMs. European performance is strong; Asian performance is decent but can be inconsistent depending on the destination. For everyday travel use (navigation, social media, video calls, HD streaming), Yesim speeds are more than adequate.

Pros & Cons Deep Dive

Pros

Wide plan selection with competitive pricing

Yesim offers 400+ plans across 120+ countries, with particularly strong value on regional multi-country plans. Their pricing is consistently competitive — often cheaper than Airalo for similar data amounts, especially for European and Asian regional bundles. If price is a major factor, Yesim is worth checking.

Well-designed mobile app

Yesim's iOS and Android apps are well-designed and easy to use. You can browse plans by country or region, purchase in seconds, track data usage in real-time, top up your balance, and manage multiple eSIMs all from the app. The app experience is better than many mid-tier competitors.

Chinese language support

Yesim is one of the few international eSIM providers that offers Chinese language support, both in the app and for customer service. This makes it a popular choice for Chinese-speaking travelers who prefer to communicate in their native language.

Multiple payment options

Yesim supports a good range of payment methods including credit cards, PayPal, and Apple Pay. PayPal support is particularly useful for travelers who prefer not to use their credit card directly or who want the added buyer protection that PayPal offers.

Good regional plan value

Yesim's regional plans — especially Europe and Southeast Asia — offer excellent value for multi-country travel. They're often cheaper than buying separate local plans for each country and much more convenient. If you're visiting 3+ countries in a region, Yesim's regional bundles are worth considering.

Cons

Inconsistent customer support quality

Yesim's customer support is hit or miss. Response times can be fast (under an hour) during European business hours but much slower (24-48 hours) on weekends or at night. Support quality also varies — some representatives are knowledgeable and helpful, while others provide generic responses.

Unclear FUP policies on some plans

Yesim's "unlimited" plans have FUP caps, but the details aren't always clearly documented on their website or in the app. The exact daily high-speed limit and throttled speed can vary by plan and destination, and it's not always easy to find this information before purchasing.

Limited truly unlimited options

Unlike Holafly or Maya Mobile, which specialize in unlimited data plans, Yesim focuses mostly on fixed-data plans. If you're a heavy data user who needs unlimited data, Yesim's limited selection of unlimited plans (with unclear FUP) may not meet your needs.

Speeds can be slow in certain countries

While Yesim speeds are generally good in Europe and major Asian cities, they can be noticeably slower than competitors in some countries. This is because the specific carrier partner varies by destination, and in some countries Yesim partners with lower-tier networks. If speed is critical, research the specific destination before buying.

How Does It Compare?

Yesim vs Airalo

Choose Yesim if you want slightly lower prices, especially for regional plans, and Chinese language support. Choose Airalo if you want wider country coverage, a more polished app, and more consistent (if still mixed) support.

Yesim vs Saily

Choose Yesim if you want broader country coverage, Chinese support, and more plan options. Choose Saily if you want the absolute cheapest European plans and don't need as many destinations.

Yesim vs SimOptions

Choose Yesim if you want a native app, direct support, and a more unified brand experience. Choose SimOptions if you want to compare prices across multiple providers and find the cheapest option.

Customer Support & Refunds

Refund Policy

Yesim's refund policy states that unused plans are eligible for refund, but the exact terms vary and are detailed on each order page. Generally, if you haven't installed or activated your eSIM, you can request a refund, but the process and timeframe aren't as clearly defined as with competitors like aloSIM or Maya Mobile.

Our verdict on refunds: Yesim's refund policy is adequate but not exceptional. The "unused plans easier to process" language is vague — make sure you understand the specific refund terms for your plan before purchasing.

Customer Support

• Channels: In-app chat, email
• Response time: 1-48 hours depending on time and issue complexity
• Languages supported: English, Chinese
• Quality: Inconsistent — can be great or mediocre depending on the representative and time of day

Common support issues:

1. Activation delays (usually resolved within a few hours)

2. FUP policy clarification questions

3. Refund request processing

4. eSIM transfer to new devices

Final Verdict

Overall rating: 3.9 / 5 stars

Yesim is a solid, reliable eSIM provider that offers good value for money, especially for regional travel. It's not the best in any single category — Airalo has wider coverage, Saily is cheaper in Europe, Maya Mobile has better unlimited plans — but it competes well across the board with a good app, competitive pricing, and Chinese language support.

The main strengths:

• Competitive pricing, especially on regional plans
• Well-designed mobile app for iOS and Android
• Chinese language support (a rarity among international providers)
• Good plan selection across 120+ countries

The main weaknesses:

• Inconsistent customer support quality
• Unclear FUP policies on unlimited plans
• Not the best choice for heavy data users

For most leisure travelers and regional multi-country trips, Yesim is a strong choice that balances price, convenience, and features well.

Our recommendation: Yesim is a great pick if you're traveling within a single region (especially Europe or Southeast Asia) and want competitive pricing with a good app experience. If you need Chinese support, it's one of your best options. For truly unlimited data or the widest global coverage, look elsewhere.

Alternatives

Airalo — Best for Global Coverage

If you want the widest country selection and the most polished app experience, Airalo is the industry leader. More destinations, more plans, and generally more reliable — just expect to pay a bit more.

Saily — Best for Budget Europe

If you're traveling exclusively in Europe and want the cheapest possible rates, Saily often undercuts Yesim on European plans. Fewer features and destinations, but lower prices.

SimOptions — Best for Price Comparison

If you want to compare prices across multiple eSIM providers in one place, SimOptions is a marketplace that aggregates plans from various brands. Great for finding the absolute cheapest option for your destination.
