aloSIM eSIM Review 2026

Quick Verdict

aloSIM is a solid, reliable eSIM provider that earns our recommendation for travelers visiting Europe and North America. With 170+ destinations, a 100% money-back guarantee, 24/7 live chat support, and a free Hushed phone number included with every plan, it offers great value and peace of mind. It lacks a native app and doesn't have the deepest plan selection in Asia or Africa, but for most mainstream travel destinations, aloSIM is a trustworthy choice with excellent customer service.

Buy aloSIM if: you're traveling in Europe or North America, you value great customer support, or you want a free secondary phone number with your data plan.

Skip aloSIM if: you want a native mobile app, you're traveling extensively in Asia or Africa, or you're looking for the absolute cheapest per-GB rates.

Who Is aloSIM For?

1. European & North American Travelers

aloSIM's strongest coverage and best pricing are in Europe and North America. If you're visiting popular destinations like France, Italy, Spain, the US, or Canada, aloSIM offers competitive rates and reliable service. Their European regional plans are particularly good value for multi-country trips.

2. Travelers Who Want a Phone Number

Unlike most eSIM providers that only offer data plans, aloSIM includes a free Hushed phone number with every plan. This is perfect if you need to make calls, send SMS, sign up for local services, or have a number for two-factor authentication while traveling. The Hushed number works via app, so no traditional voice plan needed.

3. People Who Value Customer Support

aloSIM's 24/7 live chat support is consistently rated as one of the best in the industry. If you're nervous about using eSIM for the first time or want the reassurance of knowing help is always available, aloSIM's support team is responsive and knowledgeable.

Who Should Skip aloSIM?

1. Asia & Africa Travelers

While aloSIM covers 170+ countries, their plan selection and pricing in Asia and Africa aren't as competitive as in Europe or North America. If you're primarily traveling in Southeast Asia, East Asia, or Africa, you'll find better options with Airalo or Yesim.

2. App-First Users

aloSIM doesn't have a native iOS or Android app — everything is managed through their website. If you prefer the convenience of a dedicated app for browsing plans, tracking usage, and managing your eSIM, you'll be happier with Airalo or Nomad.

3. Ultra-Budget Travelers

aloSIM isn't the cheapest eSIM provider. While their prices are competitive and fair, you can sometimes find lower rates from budget providers like Saily or OvOsim for specific destinations. If rock-bottom pricing is your top priority, shop around.

aloSIM at a Glance

Coverage & Network

aloSIM partners with local carriers worldwide to provide eSIM data service. Coverage is strongest in Europe and North America, with expanding options in other regions.

Coverage by Region

Europe: Excellent coverage across 40+ European countries, including all EU member states plus the UK, Switzerland, Norway, and Iceland. Regional Europe plans offer great value for multi-country trips. Network partners include major carriers like Vodafone, Orange, Telefonica, and Deutsche Telekom.

North America: Strong US and Canada coverage with multiple network partners. Regional North America plans cover both countries. Good speeds in major cities and decent rural coverage in populated areas.

Latin America: Decent coverage of major tourist destinations including Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Chile. Plan selection is more limited than in Europe, and prices tend to be higher.

Asia-Pacific: Moderate coverage with plans available for popular destinations like Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand. Less depth than Airalo or Yesim for this region.

Africa & Middle East: Growing but limited coverage. Plans available for major tourist hubs like South Africa, Morocco, Egypt, UAE, and Israel, but selection is sparse compared to other regions.

Network Quality Notes

• Major European/North American cities: Excellent — expect 20-60 Mbps on 4G LTE and 80-400+ Mbps on 5G where available.
• Other major cities: Good — typically 15-40 Mbps on 4G, depending on the local carrier partner.
• Rural areas: Variable — as with all eSIM providers, rural coverage depends on the local carrier. Best in Europe and North America, more limited elsewhere.

Pricing Plans

aloSIM offers three main plan types: Local (single country), Regional (multi-country), and Global (worldwide).

Local Plans (Single Country)

• Best for: Trips to one country
• Price range: $5 - $60+ depending on data and duration
• Example: US 10 GB / 15 days ~$22; France 8 GB / 15 days ~$18
• Generally competitive with Airalo for European and North American destinations

Regional Plans (Multi-Country)

• Best for: Multi-destination trips within a region
• Regions: Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Africa, Middle East
• Price range: $15 - $90+
• Example: Europe 20 GB / 30 days ~$32; North America 15 GB / 30 days ~$35
• European regional plans are particularly good value

Global Plans (Worldwide)

• Best for: Multi-continent travel
• Coverage: 130+ countries
• Price range: $30 - $200+
• Example: Global 10 GB / 30 days ~$45
• Convenient but not the cheapest per-GB option

Price Comparison: aloSIM vs Competitors

*Holafly "unlimited" plans have daily FUP caps.

aloSIM is competitive in Europe and North America, but Airalo and Saily tend to be cheaper in Asia. The free Hushed phone number adds value that's hard to quantify.

Speed & Performance

We tested aloSIM in 6 countries. Here are our findings:

Average Download Speeds by Country

Key takeaway: aloSIM speeds are comparable to other top eSIM providers — generally 10-30% slower than direct carrier SIMs but perfectly adequate for all travel use cases. European and North American performance is strong; Asia performance is good but not class-leading.

Pros & Cons Deep Dive

Pros

100% money-back guarantee on unused plans

aloSIM offers a full money-back guarantee on any unused plan — no questions asked. If you buy a plan and end up not using it (trip cancellation, changed plans, etc.), you can get a full refund. This is one of the best refund policies in the industry and removes almost all risk from purchasing.

Free Hushed phone number with every plan

Every aloSIM purchase includes a free Hushed disposable phone number, which you can use for calls, SMS, and voicemail via the Hushed app. This is incredibly useful for signing up for local services, two-factor authentication, ride-sharing apps, or any situation where you need a local number but don't want to use your primary one. Most competitors don't offer this at all.

24/7 live chat support

aloSIM's customer support is available 24/7 via live chat on their website, and response times are consistently fast — usually under 10 minutes during peak hours and under 30 minutes at off-peak times. The support team is knowledgeable and helpful, making the whole experience much less stressful, especially for first-time eSIM users.

Competitive pricing in Europe and North America

aloSIM's pricing for European and North American plans is very competitive — often cheaper than Airalo for similar data amounts. Their European regional plans, in particular, offer excellent value for multi-country trips. If your travel is concentrated in these regions, aloSIM is likely one of your best options price-wise.

Canadian company with strong privacy standards

aloSIM is based in Canada, which has strong data privacy regulations. If privacy is important to you, using a Canadian-based provider with clear data practices may be preferable to providers based in jurisdictions with weaker privacy laws.

Cons

No native mobile app

aloSIM doesn't have a dedicated iOS or Android app — everything is done through their mobile website. The website is well-designed and mobile-friendly, but it's still not as convenient as a native app would be. You can't easily track usage from your home screen, and there's no push notification support.

Limited plan selection in Asia and Africa

While aloSIM covers 170+ countries, their plan selection is heavily weighted toward Europe and North America. In Asia, Africa, and Latin America, you'll find fewer plan options and higher prices compared to leaders like Airalo. If you're traveling extensively in these regions, aloSIM may not be the best choice.

Fewer total plans than Airalo or Nomad

With around 300 total plans, aloSIM has significantly fewer options than market leaders like Airalo (500+ plans) or Nomad. This means less flexibility in terms of data amounts, durations, and plan types. For most travelers this won't matter, but if you need a very specific data/duration combination, you might not find it with aloSIM.

Higher prices in niche destinations

For less popular destinations — think smaller countries, remote islands, or less-visited regions — aloSIM's prices can be significantly higher than their mainstream destinations. In some cases, you might only have the option of an expensive global plan rather than a cheaper local one.

How Does It Compare?

aloSIM vs Airalo

Choose aloSIM if you're traveling in Europe or North America, you want a free phone number, or you value excellent 24/7 support. Choose Airalo if you want the widest global coverage, a native app, or the most plan options worldwide.

aloSIM vs Saily

Choose aloSIM if you want 24/7 live chat support, a free phone number, and broader coverage. Choose Saily if you want the absolute cheapest European eSIM plans and don't mind fewer features.

aloSIM vs Holafly

Choose aloSIM if you want fixed-data plans at competitive prices and a free phone number. Choose Holafly if you need unlimited data for short trips and don't mind paying a premium.

Customer Support & Refunds

Refund Policy

aloSIM offers a 100% money-back guarantee on all unused plans. If your eSIM hasn't been installed and activated, you can request a full refund at any time. This is one of the most generous and straightforward refund policies in the eSIM industry.

Our verdict on refunds: aloSIM's refund policy is excellent. The fact that they offer 100% money back on unused plans with no time limit mentioned is better than almost every competitor. Just make sure you don't install the eSIM if you think you might need a refund.

Customer Support

• Channels: 24/7 live chat (website), email
• Response time: 5-30 minutes via live chat; 12-24 hours via email
• Languages supported: English primarily
• Quality: Consistently rated as excellent by users

Common support issues:

1. Installation and activation guidance (handled very well)

2. Plan selection advice

3. Refund processing

4. Troubleshooting connectivity issues

Final Verdict

Overall rating: 4.0 / 5 stars

aloSIM is a strong eSIM provider that delivers reliable service with excellent customer support. It's not the biggest or cheapest player in the market, and the lack of a native app is a downside, but it does several things exceptionally well:

• 100% money-back guarantee (best in class)
• Free Hushed phone number with every plan (unique value)
• 24/7 live chat support with fast response times
• Competitive pricing for Europe and North America

For travelers visiting Europe or North America who want a reliable, low-risk eSIM with great support, aloSIM is an easy recommendation. It may not be the absolute cheapest or have the most features, but it delivers a solid, trustworthy experience.

Our recommendation: Buy aloSIM if you're traveling in Europe or North America and value customer support and peace of mind. The free Hushed phone number is a nice bonus that adds real value. For Asia, Africa, or budget-focused trips, compare options from Airalo and Saily first.

Alternatives

Airalo — Best for Global Coverage

If you're traveling outside Europe/North America or want the most plan options, Airalo has wider coverage and more plans than aloSIM. Great all-around choice for global travelers.

Saily — Best for Budget Europe

If you're traveling in Europe and want the cheapest possible per-GB rates, Saily offers lower prices than aloSIM — just don't expect the same level of support or features.

Holafly — Best for Unlimited Data

If you need unlimited data for a short trip (and don't mind FUP caps), Holafly's unlimited plans are popular with heavy data users. More expensive but no need to track usage.
